(reference)	Seen translated as "sombreness" by Space ALC (http://www.alc.co.jp/) - the only "official" source found. (They also give くすみのない as "free of dullness")
(comment)	Local usage by an engineer suggests the last three renditions. When asked what くすみ meant in his document, he pointed to the "clag" on his no longer new keyboard as an example, describing the effect as 薄暗い.
