電子政府に向けて積極的に展開している米国においては、「Information Assurance(情報保障)」が社会的なテーマとしてクローズアップされている模様である。これまで展開してきた「行政紙削減法(GPRA)」や「行政実績評価法(GPRA)」、「情報技術管理改革法(ITMRA)」など一連の行政電子化の施策と「情報保障」との関連をどのように捉えていくかの検討である。文化系情報技術においても再び米国に学ばなければならない事態に陥りそうなことが心配される。
(comment)	You'll note the magazine article quoted above uses the alternate acronym for the act (GPRA -- Government Paperwork Reduction Act) in the text but uses the final name of the Act in the footnote.  GPEA is the official name of the law, as can be seen here (http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/fedreg/gpea2.html)  The early version of the Act was titled Reduction but when the House and Senate versions were reconciled it was retitled.
The most likely place this word would come up in Japanese is a discussion of the American governments adoption of technology in government.  I was bombarded by no less than four documents this week which referenced it, so I thought it would be handy to put in the dictionary.
