A search on 導波路 will produce 32 entries, most of them decidely from the optical world.
E.g. アレイ導波路回折格子 ;《光通信》
arrayed waveguide grating
(comment)	The existing entry "導波管 【どうはかん】 (n) waveguide" remains correct. However, this basically means traditional metallic microwave waveguide. 導波路 seems to be the favoured term among the optical brigade. English doesn't need to make the distinction, but since 管 means a tube, it is presumably felt to be inappropriate for solid fibre & other dielectric-type optical waveguides.
