(comment)	The amendment is the addition of the sense "minor road".  In the quotation above, 高速 is referring to 東名高速道路, and the 下道 in question is 国道一号 (though judging from Google Images it's normally used of very minor roads).
NB. This use of 高速 as an abbreviation for 高速道路 might also be a useful addition.

(comment)	None of the existing glosses in EDICT ("adjustment; completion; consolidation") are worth keeping IMO, as I can't actually find any references that support them at all; the proposed meanings above are similar to the entry in the RW dictionary on WWWJDIC, but probably need to be in EDICT itself.

(comment)	The current entry has "often automatic" tacked onto the "transmission" sense.  I'm not sure this is justified.
For example, in the sentence ｢それにこの車はミッションだから、慣れると面白い筈だと思えた｣ (片岡とも ｢ナルキッソス｣), the word ミッション is used by itself to indicate a distinguishing feature of a car, but the feature referred to is that it has _manual_ transmission.
