(comment)	I'm a little dubious about the existing English meaning listed "My God!" but I don't know that it's /wrong/.
The most common use I've seen is when something nasty happens to someone else or some unpleasant possibility is mentioned. An onlooker will then recite くわばらくわばら, as some might cross themselves or say "God preserve".
