(pos)	n,vs
(english1)	laughter at an inappropriate time
(english2)	sarcastic laughter
(crossref)	失笑
(reference)	Genius Japanese English Dictionary
(comment)	My first attempt to use 失笑 in the sense of "spontaneous laughter" was met with very confused looks. It seems that the colloquial, or most common usage of the term has a more negative connotation, as in "sarcastic laughter" or "laughter at an inappropriate time". Indeed, these were the meanings I found listed in most 電子辞書s. Since the "sudden" or "spontaneous" meanings of the word do not seem to be widely regonized among native japanese speakers, I feel it appropriate to amend this entry.
