The name is spelled Tobo by my fiance's Japanese-American family. I thought it might be helpful to have the US version of the romaji spelling as well. Older family documents have the older kanji, but younger members have used the "bentou-no-tou" form. Both forms are in Wolfgang Hadamitzky's Japanese, Chinese, and Korean Surnames and How to Read Them.
