(comment)	This is Wasei-eigo. The image is to lighting a match and then putting it out with a water pump, so at the least "Match Pomp" is incorrect, because the phrase refers not to "pomp" but to a pump.
I'm not establishing my own definition as authoritative, just pointing out that the existing definition is unhelpful and incorrect.
