(comment) I wonder whether a 付 kanji headword should be introduced. The 大辞林 entry only has 就 in the main heading but it includes 付く when discussing possible derivations of the expression. に付いて is about three times more common than に就いて and does seem to be often used in the same way. Even though 就 is a 常用漢字 it seems possible that 付 is being used in preference because it is more familiar and easier to read/write.
