I learn from many people, this time a 12 year old Japanese kid in Thailand whom I prepared for international school. To say that he was a genius (and I hate that oft-given label as much as "hero") would be a dramatic understatement. 
Presbyopia is a unique phenomenon best described as "false farsightedness", in my case the result of wearing contact lenses to correct myopia. Only then do I need to wear reading glasses to correct the presbyopia resulting from the wearing of corrective lenses. 
The correct expression for "long-sightedness" as the Brits call it would be instead:
遠視眼 【えんしがん】 (n) farsightedness
Some day, if you request, I will tell you how 12-year old Ryo-kun became fluent in only three days and mastered my 2,500 word Advanced ESL list in as many days. Brilliance I have chosen only to teach, but this young man was beyond that of students I taught whose IQ were in the 170-180 range.
