New Entries/Amendments for 2006-Aug-6.html

======= Date: Sun, 6 Aug 2006 04:45:30 +1000 (EST)
(subtype)	amend
(headw1)	性
(kana1)	せい
(pos1)	n
(comment)	性 【せい】 (n,n-suf) sex; gender This needs immediate attendance as 性 is such a common "additive", lest the following confusion result:
多様 たよう ta-you = diversity; variety
多様性 たようせい ta-you-sei = diversity; variety
Identical English renditions at the expense of the value of 性, which here has nothing to do with sex or gender.

(headw1)	複雑
(kana1)	ふくざつ
(pos1)	n
(comment)	複雑 【ふくざつ】 (adj-na,n) complexity; complication
I see this quite a lot and try to correct accordingly. 複雑 is not a noun but always an adjective more appropriately rendered: "complex; complicated". 複雑さ would be the noun.

"Meter" or "Measuring device" should be added. A simple check of the suffix usage will confirm this.
