Again, I could see this rendering as a corollary, though related to 軌道に乗る from such an emotion cometh. In sum, both should mean "get up to speed", the latter (軌道に乗る)being more denotative and the former (調子に乗る) more connotative, the separation in actual usage being minimal, if not impossible, i.e., interchangeable.
