These are the submissions received via the WWW forms for this day. I (Jim Breen) will annotate the submission if I think it needs to be amended or rejected or if I have a question about it. Otherwise it can be assumed that it has been accepted. You can see how it will look in EDICT by looking at the "diffs" file for this day or the next in the diffs directory.

Headword 1
Reading 1うつわ
Part-of-speechn
CommentI think there should be an addition, or maybe better a separate entry for this kanji as a suffix with the pronunciation き and meaning of "device" or the like. (Sorry, can't research it at the moment.)

At work I often see terms like 過負荷防止器 'overload prevention device'.

ALC has ミルク泡立て器 'milk frother', 超音波撃退器 'ultrasonic repeller', 高度測定器 'altimeter', etc. EDICT has 測定器 【そくていき】 (n) measuring instrument.

CommentPlease add ヅラ as an alternative reading. It is often encountered in slang/colloquial language. This shortened version is always written in katakana, never hiragana. And yes, it is really dzura and not zura etc.

Headword 1済まない
Reading 1すまない
Part-of-speechadj,exp
English 1(uk) sorry (phrase)
CommentWith the meaning given for this 'expression' it should be (uk). The usage of the kanji 済まない is generally quite distinct from 'sorry'.

Editorial Comment By the "kanji 済まない" do you mean the "inexcusable" sense?
