Jim, what's your policy on listing these archaic/obsolete words ? Won't including 古語 open up a new can of worms? |

I see. It was "カヅク", i.e. かづく.
I don't really mind 古語 (in moderation) provided they are marked as "arch" or something similar. English dictionaries often have old words in them. |
Current Entry | 被ける [かずける] /(v1) (uk,arch) (1) to place a hat, etc. on someone's head/(2) to award clothing to someone as a reward or a souvenir/(3) to place the blame or burden of responsibility on someone else/(4) to use something as an excuse or a pretext/TempSUB/ |

Comment | Added alternative reading 2, かづける.
Added part-of-speech, vt. Wow, these 古語 are hard! (I am not an expert in archaic Japanese, either.) |

Comment | Comes from 持てる, with the basic meaning of "liked by many people and thus treated well". The dictionary didn't have a meaning "sexy", but it may be slang. I suppose it's possible that 持て持て and モテモテ are completely separate, but it seems somewhat unlikely. |
