New Entries/Amendments for 2007-01-02

These are the submissions received via the WWW forms for this day. I (Jim Breen) will annotate the submission if I think it needs to be amended or rejected or if I have a question about it. Otherwise it can be assumed that it has been accepted. You can see how it will look in EDICT by looking at the "diffs" file for this day or the next in the diffs directory.

Current Entry年の割に [としのわりに] /(exp) for one's age/TempSUB/
Headword 1年の割に
Headword 2年のわりに
Reading 1としのわりに
Part-of-speechexp
English 1for one's age

CommentCould also add 歳の割に (still read としのわりに) but that would be confused with Nさいのわりに. I suppose you could make that a separate sense but it all gets a bit muddled.

Editorial Comment I was a little surprised at how many 歳の割に examples Google found that weren't Nさいのわりに. I'll add 歳の割に to the entry, but I'm not sure we really need to make a separate sense.

English 3a "mystery package" (containing a variety of articles supposedly worth more in total than the purchase price)
CommentI was surpised at the duplication of the wording of EDICT and KENKYUUSHA
for this entry.

Someone obviously copied from someone.
"containing a variety of articles supposedly worth more in total than the
purchase price"

Editorial Comment Ah yes. That's the wording in the old 中辞典. The current 中辞典 has: "a “mystery shopping bag” (full of commercial items worth more, possibly, than the purchase price of the bag)." The GG5 version is much shorter. I'll reword the entry.
