CommentWhy in the world is not Shoutoku Taishi not an entry here. He was a man of some accomplishment, having brought back to Japan the Chinese characters (Kanji) so the Japanese, especially the Osaka merchants, would have a writing system. His face is not on Japanese currency for no reason at all, yet not in Edict.

i also agree that 聖徳太子 should probably get a boost up from enamdict, along with 空海/弘法大師

Commentthis is the only entry in edict proper for a member of the tokugawa clan... you'd think if there were only one, it'd be for Ieyasu, not for Iemitsu.

assuming this was submitted because of the 三代 infix? 113 hits. worth keeping in edict? or demoting to enamdict?

徳川家康 worth getting bumped up from edict? 1.4 million google hits

toyotomi hideyoshi (豊臣秀吉) gets 1.3 million. another bump up?

Editorial Comment I'll remove 徳川三代家光. (徳川家光 is already in ENAMDICT.) There are a few other suspect 徳川-derived entries of that vintage which are suspect. I think I'll leave 徳川家康 and 豊臣秀吉 where they are.

どアホ 51,000
どあほ 48,300
ど阿呆 14,900
With 14,900 Google hits for ど阿呆, I'd hesitate to call it "uk". Or is it too infrequent to warrant the "uk" tag?
NameKanji Haitani
Submission Typeamend
Editorial Comment To me a 2:1 frequency ratio of kana over kanji form is enough for a "uk". In this case どアホ/どあほ vs ど阿呆 is more like 7:1. Definitely a uk.
