CommentJust to put my 2 sen in here, this newbie submission is "unusual" to say the least and the "support" example sentences in no way support it:

¼õ¤±ÉÕ¤±·¸¤Ï»ä¤Ë̵ÍýÌðÍý»æ¤Ë½ð̾¤µ¤»¤¿¡£ [T]
The receptionist forced me to sign my name on the paper.
¼õ¤±ÉÕ¤±·¸¤ê¤Ï¡¢¤¹¤°¤µ¤ÞÍè¤ë¤è¤¦¤Ë¤È¸À¤Ã¤¿¡£ [T]
The receptionist said to come right in.

¼õÉÕ is very common speech for the "receptionist", the act of receiving being a very distant second, if at all, meaning. I believe this entry was ripped from ALC and brought kicking and screaming to Edict: http://www2.alc.co.jp/ejr/index.php?word_in=Žó•t’†&word_in2=‚©‚«‚‚¯‚±&word_in3=PVawEWi72JXCKoa0Je

CommentThe original entry said "calculus" deposit, which I don't think can be correct given the context of the word; calcium deposit, in reference to hard tooth tartar, makes much more sense than a "deposit of advanced mathematical functions."

CommentChanging Headword 2 from ¶âÀ®¤ê to ¶âÌé.

I don't understand why there are so many »þ¤Ï¶âÀ®¤ê hits. The ¤Ê¤ê in the sentence »þ¤Ï¶â¤Ê¤ê (a direct translation of the English proverb "Time is money.") is a copula (be), but I am not familiar with any copula-like use of the verb À®¤ë.

Editorial Comment Putting »þ¤Ï¶âÀ®¤ê in quotation marks gets 277 with Yahoo. They seem to be people who can't spell/ÊÑ´¹¥ß¥¹. The same in Google gets 2M, which is ridiculous. Inspection show that are matching fragments from linking pages. Putting __allintext: »þ¤Ï¶âÀ®¤ê__ gets 414, but many are »þ¤Ï¶â + À®¤ê. I'm tempted to keep it, flagged "iK".

CommentI should think that this entry alone would be enough to put any silly ¼õÉÕÃæ debate behind us.

noun-representing-an-action-or-state+¤Á¤å¤¦="currently doing ~~" or "currently in ~~ state"

in this case, the noun just happens to be a masu stem that also means "front desk", etc. But as the above link shows, ¼õÉÕ also means "accepting", as edict's own entry for it indicates.

i hear ¼õÉÕÃæ on a daily basis on television (in the context of accepting university applications, etc.), so i'm more than sure it's correct. ͽÌó¼õÉÕÃæ gets 1.6 million google hits by itself. ¿½¹þ¼õÉÕÃæ gets 1.2 million.

since dennis's "example" sentences use the word "¼õ¤±ÉÕ¤±·¸", not "¼õÉÕÃæ", perhaps he made a mistake here?
