Comment | The kanji 車 in 〜車 is almost always read "〜ぐるま".

Current Entry | 努 [ゆめ] /(adv) (arch) never/by no means/ |
Headword 1 | 努 |
Reading 1 | ゆめ |

English 1 | (arch) (uk) never |
English 2 | by no means |
Reference | yahoo.co.jp hits:
"ゆめ疑うこと" = 35, "努疑うこと" = 16 |
Comment | Adding "uk" tag.
About ゆめゆめ and ゆめ being archaic or not: I think ゆめゆめ could do without the "arch" tag, but ゆめ definitely needs it. ゆめゆめ is often used in a 現代文 (e.g: ゆめゆめ忘れるな。)、but ゆめ is more likely to be found in an archaic sentence (e.g.: ゆめ疑う事なかれ。) |

Jim: 陰府 is not likely to be read よみ and is not in that page at all. Yes it is: 主は聖霊によってやどり、おとめマリアから生まれ、ポンティオ・ピラトのもとで苦しみを受け、十字架につけられて死に、葬られ、*****陰府(よみ)*****に下り、三日目に死者のうちから復活し、天に昇って全能の父である神の右の座に着き、生者(せいじゃ)と死者を裁くために来られます。 That's the Apostles' Creed, and 陰府に下る refers to the descent into Hell. My kanwajiten (漢字源) has for this: 【陰府】インプ 冥土。よみじ。 Assuming the Japanese wiki page is accurate, and the Creed is as common among Japanese Catholics as it among other Catholics, the よみ reading might be common enough to be accounted for somewhere. Either as よみ (ik) or (gikun) in this entry or 陰府 as (iK) in the 黄泉 [よみ] entry. Perhaps the former would be tidier. "陰府" = 13000 google hits... "陰府" "よみ" = 1100 hits strange no major dictionary has it. |

also, are we 100ure this refers to "animate nature" and "living things" as opposed to just "living people"? |

Editorial Comment | GG5 has animate nature/living things for しょうじゃ and living person/the living for せいじゃ/せいしゃ. I suspect two entries are needed. OTOH, Koujien has しょうじゃ as an explanation of せいじゃ. Humph. |

if there's a good way of indicating it, kojien and daijirin both say of the second sense: (多く「薔薇」と書く) as for 荊棘, kojien and daijirin have the following entries: うばら【茨・荊棘】 うまら【荊棘・茨】 おどろ【棘・荊棘】 けいきょく【荊棘】 ばら【荊棘】 |

けいきょく = senses 1, 2, 3 ばら = sense 1 only other entries うばら【茨・荊棘】and うまら【荊棘・茨】are close enough that they might be added in here as well, restricted to the first sense. おどろ【棘・荊棘】 is different enough that it would get its own entry if added |
