also, i'm removing (conj), as the current entry doesn't contain conj usage (although one could add an archaic second sense for this, i don't know that there's much point in it) |

Comment | I think "indiscrimination" is better than "without discrimination"?
There also seems to be a few 無差別 phrases appearing that I feel don't need separate entries - 無差別爆撃, for instance. Or if they stay, then the more common (I think) 無差別殺人 needs an entry. |

"indiscrimination" seems odd to me. Sounds 米語ish. It gets 41k Googits, whereas "without discrimination" gets 1M. I'll put in both, and break out the adjectival use.
I'll make an entry for 無差別殺人. |

2 (「三和土」とも書く)叩き土に石灰や水をまぜて練ったものを塗り、たたき固めて仕上げた土間。のちにはコンクリートで固めた土間。「玄関の―」 |
Comment | Re Editorial Comment < I'm reluctant to merge this with the 叩き/敲き/たたき entry, mainly because the result will be a mess. Is the use of 叩き for this sense genuine, or a not-uncommon 変換ミス? >
I think it is genuine. Although 大辞林 merely says 三和土 is "「叩(たた)き」と同源 ", the reference given above (大辞泉) clearly shows that たたき is written in these three ways (三和土、叩き、敲き). Interestingly, it appears that 広辞苑 and 新明解 (which I don't have) give 叩き and 敲き as primary headwords for たたき in this sense (hard-packed dirt floor), and say merely 「三和土とも書く」in their explanation of the word's meaning. (Neither does 大辞泉 has a separate heading for 三和土.) |
