Comment | < Any suggestion of alternatives/expansions? >
I'm sure you have already consulted GG5, but just in case... "Enough is enough" alone is too brief, IMO, to convey the meaning of the expression in question. It implies ÉÕ¤¹ç¤¤¤¤ì¤Ê¤¤ only when it follows a related sentence, as in the GG5 example: "Your shopping is taking too long. Enough is enough." |

Comment | Just adding kanji for ¤Æ¤á¤¨
Also ¤Æ¤á¤¨ is used in both "you" and "oneself" meanings. I have a sneaking feeling that it's somewhat similar to ¤ª¤Î¤ì in that aspect (at very least similar "oneself" usage). I guess "you" and "oneself" are distinct enough to give them seperate numbers? And there's a little question of whether a uk tag should be added or not. In my private experience, i've only seen ¤Æ¤á¤¨ written in kanji, when there was furigana besides it. But after a quick and shallow search, it also seems to be "sometimes" written in kanji if it's reading is obvious from context (i.e. rude/ruff way of speakin). also there's ¼êÁ°¤é. Seems that even when written in kanji, the pronounciation is usually ¤Æ¤á¤¨¤é. "Hiragana only" still get's more hits (about 3 times more)... but I don't know if this should be decided solely on google hits... |
