Comment"does anyone actually say "sado"? "
I don't know, but they actually say "S".

"ああ、それなのに過酷なリクエストをしてしまった私はひょっとしてS?"

(similar sentences heard on anime etc.)

Which brings me to the current entry
エス (n) (abbr) sister; (P)
Really all it means is "S", and it is used as an abbreviation for just about anything beginning with that letter.

Current Entryサド /(n) sado/sadist/sadism/(P)/
Headword 1サド
Part-of-speechn
English 1(abbr) sadist
English 2sadism
Commentwhat i meant was "does anybody actually say 'sado' [in english]?" which is why i deleted it.

i've actually had it in mind for a while to do a complete submission of the letters of the alphabet. i was surprised to see that they aren't in there already. probably useful for readings so people can get them to pop up in their IMEs. some of the readings (like V is usually ブイ instead of ヴィー, A is エー not エイ) can be difficult to guess. plus, as you say, the meanings are sometimes less than obvious, i.e. S = sadism, M = masochism, etc.
