Editorial Comment Isn't this over-deconstruction of an idiom like 山が当たる? Would you take an English idiom like "to put out to grass" as a reason for adding a sense under "grass" of "retirement; meaningless activities"?

Headword 1フシギダネ
Part-of-speechn
English 1Bulbasaur (Pokemon creature)
Referencehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulbasaur
CommentThis is actually an amendment for ENAMDICT. (There seems to be no "Suggest" button for ENAMDICT.)

I'm not an expert on Pokemon characters, but I suspect that the correct English name is "Bulbasaur" not "Fushigidane" (which just looks to be romaji).

Would you prefer I indicate when I have included kanji from JIS X 0212 / JIS X 0213 explicitly? For instance, you made a comment about not being able to use 𤭯 since it isn't in JIS.

http://www.unicode.org/cgi-bin/GetUnihanData.pl?codepoint=24B6F&useutf8=false
lists it as being JIS X 0213, so did you mean not JIS X 0212?
NameBrandon Kentel

Editorial Comment I can handle JIS212 (albeit a bit messily), but not JIS213. The latter arrive as HTML entity codes.

Current Entry身の回り [みのまわり] /(n) one's personal appearance/personal belongings/(P)/
Headword 1身の回り
Reading 1みのまわり
Part-of-speechn
English 1one's personal appearance
English 2personal belongings
English 3everyday necessities
ReferenceGG5, Daijirin.
CommentI suggest adding this third English gloss to cover the sense of this word in phrases like 身の回りの世話をする, which does not really refer to personal appearance or belongings.

It might also be useful to add a gloss for the longer phrase (= "take care of [somebody]") - there's precedent for this in numerous other dictionaries - but this isn't sufficient in itself, as the wider sense is used in other contexts as well.

The order of senses also needs consideration. I'm not convinced that "personal appearance" is the primary sense, or even _a_ primary sense; it's not given in either of the references I've cited.
Submission Typeamend
Editorial Comment Extended and rearranged. Added 身の回りの世話をする too.

CommentRe: recent amendment suggestion:
< English 6: (4) (See 山が当たる) area covered by an exam >

I would say "山" in "(試験で)山が当たる" is not any "area covered by an exam", but rather, more precisely, "what one speculates to be an area covered by an exam".

CommentI don't know if I've suggested this before but how about separating this into two entries?

すう and かず are both common readings but there is usually only one that applies in any particular sentence. Defining a different meaning may be difficult but from the point of view of somebody wanting to know when to use which it is important that the example sentences can be indexed separately.
