Comment嫁ける seems rare enough (~30 web hits) that it might be a bit of a shame to make it a formal headword. It is in the dictionaries though.

Headword 1秘苑
Reading 1ひえん
Part-of-speechn
English 1(1) secret garden
English 2private garden
English 3(2) name for female genitalia
Referencehttp://www.pref.mie.jp/BIJUTSU/HP/event/catalogue/saito/list.htm

A couple of dozen references for (2) can be found by searching on 秘苑 along with other likely words like あてがう
Comment33,000 yahoo.co.jp web hits. Apparently the name of a soapland 'club'. Also be used (possibly with different readings - ビウォン?) in some names of more legitimate businesses. In particular a Korean restaurant chain.

Exactly how much (1) really applies as a word outside of proper nouns I'm unsure. Also not sure which 訳語 would best fit (2). I guess you can take your pick and add it to the 'explanation' gloss.

English 7to deceive
English 8(3) to aim for
English 9to have something in mind
English 1(4) to refer A to B
Reference大辞泉 and 大辞林
CommentNo change.

Currently there are 3 entries for はかる with one entry sharing the reading たばかる. たばかる is very narrow in meaning and largely (arch).大辞泉 and 大辞林 list たばかる as 謀る only and define it very narrowly (when compared to はかる).

For はかる 大辞泉 has all meanings under one entry while 大辞林 splits the meaning into two entires. What follows is a suggestion for possible revision of the current entries.

謀る たばかる (v5r, vt)
(1) to work out a plan of deception, to scheme
(2) (arch) to think up or over a plan
(3) (arch) to discuss, to consult

はかる (v5r, vt)
(1) 計る・測る・量る
(a) to measure, to gauge, to take (temperature), to time
 測 → area, length, etc
 量 → weight, volume, etc
計 → time, frequency, period, etc
(b) to conjecture, to infer, to surmise

(2) 図る・謀る
(a) to come to a decision on, to make a judgment on, to make an estimation
(b) to plan, to attempt (a suicide, etc)

(3) 謀る
(a) to scheme, to cook up a plan
(b) to deceive, to work out a plan of deception

(4) 図る
(a) to exercise a scheme
(b) to manage, to deal with, to take care of (accommodations, etc)

(5) 諮る
(a) to discuss, to consult
NameBrandon Kentel
Submission Typeamend
Editorial Comment I'll take たばかる out into its own entry (uk). What you suggest for 計る, 測る, 量る and 諮る is fine. GG5, which I think reflects contemporary usage more than 大辞林 et al. doesn't distinguish between 図る・謀る for はかる and rolls your (2)and (3) together./

Current Entry撥ねる(P);刎ねる [はねる] /(v1,vt) (1) to reject/to deny/to refuse/(2) to eliminate/to exclude/to leave out/(3) to flip/to splash/to splatter/(4) (esp. 刎ねる) to decapitate/to behead/(5) to hit (e.g., to have a car hit something or someone)/to run into/(6) to jump up/(P)/
Headword 1撥ねる

English 1(1) to reject
English 2to deny
English 3to refuse
English 4(2) to eliminate
English 5to exclude
English 6to leave out
English 7(3) to flip
English 8to splash
English 9to splatter
English 1(4) to hit (e.g., to have a car hit something or someone)
English 1to run into
English 1(5) to jump up
Commenti suggest a separate entry for 刎ねる

daijirin and daijisen have separate entries
kojien combines, but has a と書く not とも書く for 刎ねる

and although 撥ねる *might* be used to mean "behead" (although google image hits don't support this) 刎ねる doesn't apply to any of the other senses

also, this may not be strictly limited to beheadings, but cutting the carotids or the jugular. my kanwa-jiten has:
《意味》{動}はねる(はぬ)。頸の動脈を切って死ぬ。▽日本の切腹と違い、中国では頸動脈をかき切って自殺した。それを「自刎」という。

self-decapitation is a little bit difficult to pull off, i think.

gg5?

there are some other little issues in the entries for 撥ねる and 跳ねる as well, but i'll deal with those later
NameRene Malenfant
Submission Typeamend
Editorial Comment I used to have 刎ねる in its own entry, but combined it some time ago. GG5 has them combined, but the (older) chuujiten kept them apart. I think keeping them combined and having "esp. 刎ねる" on the behead sense works OK.
