New Entries/Amendments for 2007-09-18

These are the submissions received via the WWW forms for this day. I (Jim Breen) will annotate the submission if I think it needs to be amended or rejected or if I have a question about it. Otherwise it can be assumed that it has been accepted. You can see how it will look in EDICT by looking at the "diffs" file for this day or the next in the diffs directory.

Editorial Comment Not sure about the meaning you have extracted from Eijiro. Apart from all the other そうそうs already in EDICT/JMdict, there are a couple of kana-only ones recorded in GG5, which I have turned into an entry:
そうそう /(adv) (1) so long/so often/so many/so much/(2) (int) oh, yes!/that's right/hmmm/
I think そうそうない is (just) the negation of the first sense of this. What do others think?

Headword 1くらい
Headword 2ぐらい
Part-of-speechsuf,prt
English 1(1) (See 位, くらい) approximately
English 2(2) about
English 3almost
CommentThese two are a bit confused, or at least overlapping.

Maybe remove くらい from the kana only version and change (also ぐらい) to (See ぐらい) in the kanji version.

くらい(P); ぐらい(P) (suf,prt) approximately; about; almost; (P)
位【くらい】 (adv, suf) (1) (also ぐらい) approximately; about; (2) almost; as; enough to; at least; (n) (3) grade; rank; quality; (n) (4) situation; (occupying a) position; (n) (5) (See 桁) digit (e.g., the tens, the hundreds, etc.); (n) (6) extent; amount; (n) (7) (See 席所) (arch) throne; (nobleman's) seat; (n) (8) (arch) high ranking position; the imperial throne; crown; government position; nobility; (the) dignity; (P)

Editorial Comment I agree about the overlap, I can't see a non-messy solution. Both Kenkyushas keep くらい and 位/くらい apart.
