CommentSort of a 御/no-御 pair. I'm rather dubious of the definition given for ご注意 - certainly that's a possible meaning, indeed a likely meaning when used _on it's own_. In phrases though "take care of __/beware of __," and "pay attention (to)" seem quite likely. "your warning" "your advice" would appear possible too.

As you can see the 'maths' doesn't add up well, so I'm not certain if it's justified having a separate entry for this. On the other hand it makes it consistent with having separate entries for 互い and お互い

Current Entry活動写真 [かつどうしゃしん] /(n) movie/
Headword 1活動写真
Reading 1かつどうしゃしん
Part-of-speechn
English 1movie
Comment活動写真機 means "projector; movie projector" and should be worthy of addition. Use of either one of these terms, however, will elicit much laughter from the Japanese. As a result, I say them with a straight face as if I were a sincere and well-intentioned, though badly misguided, foreigner. Such is the stuff of my humor.
NameDennis
Submission Typeamend
Editorial Comment And such is the stuff of my analytical skills that I interpret this as a recommendation to place "obs" on the 活動写真 entry. As Wikipedia says: "活動写真(かつどうしゃしん)は明治・大正期における映画の呼称。" Still it gets into 40k WWW pages, so there must be a lot of people rolling in the aisles.
活動写真機 gets 756 hits, which is marginal. And since it will make Japanese people laugh .....

Headword 1映写機
Reading 1えいしゃき
Part-of-speechn

CommentAlthough I'm sure some justification can be found for the inclusion of this, especially with a P marker, I seriously doubt it is used very often, プロジェクター being a bit more "in fashion" with katakana crazy younger generations. Btw, 活動写真機 I translated as "movie projector" (and I believe it can also be used to mean that as well) but it should be "movie camera". At any rate both expressions are best filed in the Humor Section of one's mind.

Reading 1どくだみ
Part-of-speechn
English 1chameleon plant (Houttuynia cordata)
CommentWas playing around with the jmdict file and found that
"蕺草 【どくだみ】 (n) chameleon plant (Houttuynia cordata)" entry, and "檫 【さつ; しんばしら】 (n) central pillar of a pagoda" entry have identical sequence numbers (9001210).

Is this an error or am I missing something?

On a side note, if either 檫 or 蕺 were contained in the headword, my amendment would not get processed...
Submission Typeamend
Editorial Comment The replication of 9001210 was a typo; now fixed.
The update form only accepts EUC-encoded Japanese characters; not SGML entity codes like 檫 or 蕺. Those entries contain kanji from the JIS X 0212 set, which Firefox handles correctly, and IE doesn't because Microsoft only partly implemented EUC.
