Current Entry専門外 [せんもんがい] /(n) (see 外, がい) outside of one's area of expertise/TempSUB/FIX xref/
Headword 1専門外
Reading 1せんもんがい
Part-of-speechn
English 1(see 外, がい) outside of one's area of expertise
English 2TempSUB
English 3FIX xref
CommentAs I see that 専門外 is awaiting verification, I thought I might point up that it can be found in two other on-line dictionaries:
1) Yahoo!
2) Eijiro (ALC) - But then everything can be found in Eijiro, especially English slang and vulgarity I have never heard.
I would also like to point up that there are numerous other ways to say "outside of one's expertise" that are more natural and more easily understood. Just my input: I would never use this expression because I hate having to explain myself in mid-conversation.

Current Entryエペ /(n) (fr: epee) rapier/(P)/
Headword 1エペ
Part-of-speechn
English 1(fr:) epee
Comment>Um. "rapier" is also used in English.

I was under the impression that fencing with a rapier was something only done by the brave or the foolhardy.

And there's already:
レイピア (n) rapier
NameRene Malenfant
Submission Typeamend
Editorial Comment The issue here is whether エペ ever means rapier. I can't find any evidence that it does, so I'll drop that gloss, and instead xref to レイピア, given the family relationship , e.g., (http://www.utahfencing.org/epee/)

Current Entry陰陽 [いんよう(P);おんよう] /(n) cosmic dual forces/yin and yang/sun and moon, etc./(P)/
Headword 1陰陽
Reading 1いんよう
Reading 2おんみょう
Reading 3おんよう
Part-of-speechn
English 1cosmic dual forces
English 2yin and yang
English 3sun and moon, etc.
Referenceany of the bigger dictionaries.
CommentJust adding おんみょう

Don't really know the frequency of readings though. A quick search by readings showed that おんみょう is below いんよう and above おんよう (probably had tons of false hits though).

広辞苑 also mentions that いんよう is the original character reading (漢音) and that おんみょう and おんよう are used when referring to japanese 陰陽道.

Works with IME.

I first encountered it at the start of this Yomiuri article:

The label on this bottle of bathroom cleaner defines it as "sterilizing", but 100-yen shop goods aren't renowned for the quality of their English translations, so take that with a pinch of salt :-)
