Just in case Richard reads this:

Comment | A 問診票 is a type of questionnaire, but not all questionnaires are 問診票. Therefore, the current entry, equating 問診票 to questionnaire, is misleading.
Both 問診票(418,000 yahoo hits) and 問診表(369,000) are used. My ATOK IME shows only the former. |

Comment | I noticed the submission for 目前 and understood the mistake, so thought I could point it out.
It seems that 黙然 has two readings mokuzen and mokunen. Both mean silent or quiet. I think that the mokuzen reading means more that you want to speak, but do not. That is where the tacit comes from. From this we can get "with something in mind" or "something on your mind". |

Editorial Comment | I agree. 黙念 and 黙然 should not have been merged. And 黙然/もくねん/もくぜん go in the same entry. GG5 simply points both at 黙々. |

Reading 2 | もくぜん |

Part-of-speech | adj-t |
Part-of-speech | adv-to |

English 2 | silence |
Comment | all japanese dictionaries have もくぜん as the primary reading, but i would have said もくねん, which is the reading that's already there. perhaps best to run it through kodansha and gg5 as well

Editorial Comment | GG5 has two entries; both just pointing to 黙々. Kodansha has a full entry for もくぜん and points もくねん at it. In a crude measure, Google has about 10 times more 黙然+もくねん hits than 黙然+もくぜん. |

Comment | >I've encountered "polysynthetic language" too. Could that be added?
== I'm hardly an expert on these things, but English Wikipedia says: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polysynthetic_languages "Incorporation (primarily noun incorporation) has been an issue that has historically been confused with polysynthesis and also used as a criterion for its definition. Incorporation refers to the phenomenon where lexical morphemes (or lexemes) are combined together to form a single word. Not all polysynthetic languages are incorporating, and not all incorporating languages are polysynthetic." and: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incorporation_(linguistics) "Incorporation is central to many polysynthetic languages such as those found in North America, Siberia and northern Australia, but polysynthesis does not necessarily imply incorporation. Neither does the presence of incorporation in a language imply that that language is polysynthetic." Japanese Wikipedia says: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/怨茯 1. Polysynthetic language の意味。 2. Incorporating language の意味。 現在、2を抱合語、1を複総合的あるいは複統合的言語と呼ぶことが多い。 eijiro has: ・incorporating language 抱合言語 ・polysynthetic language 多総合語 but seeing as: "多総合語" gets 5 hits "複統合的言語" gets 8 hits "複総合的言語" gets 4 hits it might be a fair addition |
