Commentall dictionaries have this as 冠[かん] (adj-t,adv-to).

this should probably be added to 冠[かん] as (adj-t,adv-to) as well

CommentSuggesting the deletion of the current 2nd headword エイセ.

I have never heard of エイセ meaning "ace".

Yahoo.co.jp lists over 23 million エース, as compared to 206 エイセ, a few (less than a handful) of which refer to the title of the 1999 American movie "Five Aces." (ファイブ エイセス). But that doesn't mean "ace" is pronounced エイセ in Japanese.

BTW, I don't know what sense 2 ACE is. Shouldn't it be spelled out (e.g., Advisory Centre for Education, Awards for Cable Excellence, etc.) ?

Current Entryさん /(suf) Mr or Mrs/(P)/
Headword 1さん
Part-of-speechsuf
English 1Mr or Mrs
Comment> Why drop "Mrs"?
> I suspect you've missed the point about the gender-neutral aspect.

My point was the neutrality of さん/様 regarding *marital status*, not gender. I only dropped "Mrs" because I thought the entry would be more concise as "Mr or Ms", rather than "Mr, Mrs, Ms, Miss", but either way works for me.

I also think the comment Kodansha gives about the idiosyncratic appending of さん/様 to occupational titles could merit entry, since English speakers don't say "Mr Doctor" or "Ms Lawyer".

Comment> when you add "vs" to something, you don't add the verb form,
> why would it be different for adj-no?

Actually the current policy is to split "vs" glosses into a
separate sense so it shouldn't be any different for adj-no.
They _both_ get split.
