I don't think so, although the point is debatable. http://gogen-allguide.com/i/ikemen.html 「イケメンの語源は、いけてる（＝かっこいい。容姿の素敵な）の略に、「面」あるいは「men」をつけたものといわれる。」 イケてる面 is the first explanation I ever heard for this word, and that's the one I prefer. gogen-allguide is a great reference. Even though it's still quite limited, I wonder if there's any benefit in linking to it from Edict searches, as is done for Wikipedia, Jekai, etc. |
