Commentmy guess is that チンカス is from ちん[ぽ]+滓

since チンカス can be used as an insult at it seems to be a colloquialism, perhaps "dick cheese", etc. would be a better translation

Editorial Comment Great word. These days it makes me think of Monty Python sketches, and of course the wonderful "Fisch Schlapping" opening chorus in Spamalot.

CommentWhile I have no objection to this entry, the little kids in Japan usually said 時計の反対回り. So much of the Japanese I acquired resulted from "saru mane" and hence may not always be the most acceptable. At any rate I have never ever received an odd reaction to 時計の反対回り when I used it - and very few of my friends were polite.

Editorial Comment I see the Kenkyushas have "時計の針と反対回りの[に]" and "時計の針と反対の[に]" as well as 左回りの. Eijiro has a heap of alternatives. I'd be happy to see some submissions of alternatives, especially if they are backed by frequency metrics.

CommentSlightly dubious about whether we need both this and 辛抱強い. I think it's a stretch just calling it (n) anyway.

Well few of them in the Tanaka Corpus are (adj) for a start.

It is the case that 似ている is a lot more common than
似る (with 似てる being about equally common to 似ている).

Maybe something like the above? (Reading restriction required).
