Current Entry大国主義 [たいこくしゅぎ] /(n) policy favoring major powers/policy favouring major powers/
Headword 1大国主義
Reading 1たいこくしゅぎ
Part-of-speechn
English 1policy favoring major powers
English 2policy favouring major powers
CommentThis definition could really use some clarification primarily with regard to "standpoint". Is this:
1) a small country's policy of acquiescing to a superpower
2) a superpower bullying the world
The other online dictionaries don't offer any help at all:
1) 大国主義 = "a policy favoring great powers" – Yahoo
2) 大国主義 = "great-power ambition "– Eijiro
3) Google – not found at all
NameDennis
Submission Typeamend
Editorial Comment Kenkyusha has: "policy of great powers favorable only to themselves".

Current Entry九十九折 [つづらおり] /(n) winding/meandering/zigzag/sinuous/
Headword 1九十九折
Reading 1つづらおり
Part-of-speechn
English 1winding
English 2meandering
English 3zigzag
English 4sinuous
Comment九十九折 【つづらおり】 (n) winding; meandering; zigzag; sinuous [G][GI][S][A]
葛折り 【つづらおり】 (n) winding; zigzag [G][GI][S][A]
九十九折り 【つづらおり】 (n) winding road [G][GI][S][A]

Please combine all of these.

Current Entry派閥 [はばつ] /(n) political faction/(P)/
Headword 1派閥
Reading 1はばつ
Part-of-speechn
English 1political faction
CommentA "faction", yes; a "political faction" I dunno. I think it can be used in a more generic "clique" sense, though I will conceded that 派閥 is most often used in the political arena. Think I might go with "faction (politics, office, military, organization, etc.)"
NameDennis
Submission Typeamend
Editorial Comment I agree that it's too specific.

Current Entry反英雄 [はんえいゆう] /(n) antihero/
Headword 1反英雄
Reading 1はんえいゆう
Part-of-speechn
English 1antihero
CommentI can't find 反英雄 anywhere else. Searches elsewhere under "antihero" bring up "explanations" but no single word for antihero. Quite honestly, 反英雄 sounds a bit too "English convenient", i,e, a 直訳.
NameDennis
Submission Typeamend
Editorial Comment 反英雄 is not a common word, but I get enough hits on 反英雄 + antihero/anti-hero to be comfortable with it.

Current Entry凝らす [こごらす] /(v5s,vt) to freeze/to congeal/
Headword 1凝らす
Reading 1こごらす
Part-of-speechv5s,vt
English 1to freeze
English 2to congeal
English 3to concentrate one's attention on
English 4to devote oneself to something
English 5to ponder, meditate
ReferenceKenkyusha J-E
CommentYou currently capture the core meaning of the verb in the idioms but not in the definition of the key verb.

Your key verb definition of 凝らす `freeze/congeal` looks like a form of 凍る <こおる>to me...

cheers and tks again for a useful www site

Current Entry大好き [だいすき] /(adj-na,n) very likeable/like very much/(P)/
Headword 1大好き
Reading 1だいすき
Part-of-speechadj-na,n
English 1love
English 2very likeable
English 2like very much
CommentPretty obvious. Just thought I'd add it for completion, especially since "好き" already has "love" as a meaning. (in the sense that's mostly synonymous with the other meanings)
In this case, I'm adding it as the first meaning.
If this isn't correct, please review "好き" as well.
