ReferenceSuper Daijirin
Yahoo dict
CommentI was investigating some hentaigana and found a reading of yabusoba, looking through my Wordtank I noticed the Super Daijirin had an entry for yabusoba. I then also found Yahoo dict to have one:

やぶ‐そば【×藪蕎=麦】
甘皮をとらずにひいた蕎麦粉でつくった、淡緑色の蕎麦。また、そういう蕎麦を使うそば屋の屋号。

藪蕎麦: ~16500 Google hits on .jp
やぶそば: ~51500

http://www.yabusoba.net/ has the hentaigana 'bu' on the front page.

I am not entirely sure of the English meaning though. I am not making completely sense of the description yet, so feel free to adjust it accordingly.

CommentI know this must be an oversight on a word that is so simple and found everywhere, usually in compounds, but there are at least two other readings I can think of:
がん (丸薬) and たま (丸傷).
NameDennis
Submission Typeamend
Editorial Comment Single kanji only get JMdict/EDICT entries if they exist as stand-along words or as affixes. 丸/がん is a common ON reading. I didn't know it could stand alone, but as Rene points out below, it can. As for 丸/たま, I don't think it is a reading at all. たまきず is usually written 弾傷. 丸傷 is suspect. Many of its ~150 Google hits derive from EDICT. (Look in KANJIDIC for the readings of 丸.)

Current Entry丸傷 [たまきず] /(n) bullet wound/
Headword 1丸傷

CommentAre we REAL certain that this is the best entry for "bullet wound"? Please understand that I'm sure I've heard it many times (feels real, real colloquial) but it's not found extensively elsewhere. Not an objection, just legitimate confusion. 銃創 might be one of those "isseki nichou" words such that 丸傷 might warrant a "col" qualification.

CommentI don't think this compound ever refers to damaged goods, only to the physical and emotional injury of people and animals. What I believe the mistranslation stems from is the very common expressions: 傷を付ける and 傷が付いた which can refer to both animate and inanimate objects.

Editorial Comment GG5 disagrees; providing an example: 動かす時に家具が傷つかないように注意してください. Be very careful when you move the furniture not to scratch it.
Also one sees 傷つきにくい and 傷つきやすい meaning "scratch-resistant" and "fragile".

Headword 1会う
Reading 1あう
Part-of-speechv5u,vi
English 1to meet
English 2to interview
Referencekoj, daijr, daijs, prog. waei, nc waei
Commentthere are perhaps too many independent あう entries floating around

遭う 【あう】 (v5u,vi) to meet; to encounter (undesirable nuance); (P) [V][Ex][G][GI][S][A]
会う 【あう】 (v5u,vi) to meet; to interview; (P) [V][Ex][G][GI][S][A]
逢う 【あう】 (v5u,vi) to meet (with drama or pathos); (P) [V][Ex][G][GI][S][A]
遇う 【あう】 (v5u,vi) to meet; to encounter [V][G][GI][S][A]

i'm of the opinion that 会う・逢う could be combined and 遭う・遇う could be combined

all japanese dictionaries combine completely, with some restrictions. so does new century waei

progressive waei has: あう【会う】, あう【遭う】

perhaps something like:
会う,逢う 【あう,おう(ik)】 (v5u,vi)
(逢う is often used for close friends, etc.) to meet

遭う,遇う 【あう】 (v5u,vi)
(遭う often has a negative nuance) to encounter
NameRene Malenfant

Editorial Comment GG5 runs 会う/逢う/遭う in the one entry, and ignores 遇う. I'll put all 4 together with a note.

Referencekoj, daijr, daijs
Commentthis entry's a bit of a mess, especially with that すく mixed in here. (i.e., i think senses 2 & 6 should be "すく only", not "空く only".)

how about splitting these, and having something like the following (based mainly on daijisen's entry):
開く,空く,明く [あく] (v5k,vi)
(1) (esp. 開く) to open (of a door, etc.)
(2) (esp. 開く) to open (for business, etc.)
(3) (esp. 空く) to be empty

(7) (esp. 明く) to come to an end
