i think they should be:
かえ・す〔かへす〕【返す/▽反す】

as all the kokugo dicts have, and as edict basically has for its equivalent かえる entries

Reading 1せんくしゃ
Part-of-speechn
English 1(1) pioneer
English 2trailblazer
English 3groundbreaker
English 4pathfinder
English 5(2) herald
English 6forerunner
CommentI can't really see what the difference is supposed to be between (1) and (2). (大辞林 and 広辞苑 just give it one def.)

If it was to be split up I think it could be split between /literal/ and /metaphorical/, but the same words are pretty much used for both.
NamePaul Blay
Submission Typeamend
Editorial Comment I did that split because Rene suggested dropping "herald/forerunner", so I kept them, but split them. Now I'm inclined to go with other refs, incl. GG5, and have just one sense. Sense change.

Headword 1先駆者
Reading 1せんくしゃ
Part-of-speechn
English 1(1) pioneer
English 2trailblazer
English 3groundbreaker
English 4pathfinder
English 5(2) herald
English 6forerunner
Commentthis was split up to conform with edits to these entries:

前駆 【ぜんく; せんぐ(ok); ぜんぐ(ok)】 (n,vs) (1) outrider (person riding horseback in the lead position of a cavalcade); outriding; (2) harbinger; herald; precursor; forerunner; foretoken; (3) anticipation

先駆 【せんく】 (n,vs) (1) forerunner; pioneer; precursor; (2) herald; (3) (See 前駆) outrider; pilot car; (P)

i dislike the 2nd sense of each of these 先駆 entries entirely. imo, a herald/forerunner (前駆) doesn't actually *accomplish* anything, whereas a pioneer (先駆) does. but we've been over this

NameHendrik
Submission Typeamend
Editorial Comment Hendrik, I can't see that sense in the Yahoo dictionary,or anywhere else. All I'm seeing is 衆/しゅう being used as a regular 熟語 component. Can you give any examples wheer it is a suffix like that? (The P will stay unless I remove it. BTW, if you use the "Suggest an amendment" button on the dctionary display page, you get the existing entry loaded into the form already.)
