Comment | I presume 'to attach' meant in a physical fashion. It seems plausible that that usage is possible but I can't find any examples.
¹¼±ñ has a sense (not above) for "to suit (e.g. of clothes)" which would be an (arch) if you have it. |

Comment | > ¤¿¤¤® = any wood that you burn (whatever you can find and carry, i.e., branches and scraps)
> ¤Þ¤ = wood that has specifically been prepared for this purpose (i.e., chopped and dried) That would appear to /have been/ the distinction, but I don't think it's followed consistently now. Although ¤Þ¤ is 'made' but ¤¿¤¤® is 'found' there are more web hits for ¤Þ¤½¸¤á than ¤¿¤¤®½¸¤á. Similarly ¤Þ¤½¦¤¤ has more hits than ¤¿¤¤®½¦¤¤ (even though the above link gives ¤Þ¤½¦¤¤ as an example of 'something not said'). Finally, to the best of my memory, when collecting firewood is mentioned in anime the word used has always been ¤Þ¤. I suspect the people using ¤¿¤¤® / ¤Þ¤ correctly are the same sort of people who would use 'whom' correctly in English (e.g. in the minority). |

"OK, so I didn't want to say this because it sounded retarded but takigi reminded me of takibi which is a bonfire of course but a smallish one, yeah? Like a cute little one, look up takibi in alc and you get a bonfire but look up bonfire and they have words that mean bigger fires. Or expressions I should say. As it turns out takigi comes from ʲ¤ÌÚ which is what you throw on your ʲ¤²Ð which is little, littler than a bonfire on which you might throw a maki or two. Comment | i recommended splitting this entry a year or so ago, but i don't really care for it at all
browsing through google image hits, i see not a single picture of a black person, and i think it really pollutes this entry to have it here. and the meaning of ÅÛ itself is not nearly vulgar enough to be granted the status of the N-word. and with that gone, the meaning of ÅÛ is clear enough that this construction is unnecessary, and it's not idiomatic enough for an entry either. Çò¤¤ÅÛ gets more hits, and ÀĤ¤ÅÛ gets more than half as many. i think we should just delete this entry and leave it at that although if you want the source for this entry, i can probably give it to you: the kodansha kanji learner's dictionary by jack halpern |
