CommentThis entry could do with some qualification. As per the rendering I had always assumed that À²¤ì¤ë was a weather-only expression. Not so. A problem can be cleared up; one's head can clear; one can be cleared of suspicion, etc.
http://dic.yahoo.co.jp/dsearch?enc=UTF-8&p=晴れる&stype=0&dtype=3 and http://dictionary.goo.ne.jp/search.php?MT=À²¤ì¤ë&kind=je&mode=0&kwassist=0 might help.
