Editorial Comment One problem is that the expression gets no hits on WWW pages and is not in any of the dictionaries that usually record sayings like that. The expression 雨が降ろうが槍が降ろうが *is* in the dictionaries, and gets about 10k hits, so I will substitute it.

Current Entry腎臓結石 [じんぞうけっせき] /(n) kidney stone/ (1727140)
Headword 1腎臓結石
Reading 1じんぞうけっせき
Part-of-speechn
English 1kidney stone
CommentAs my obsession with logic and consistency is well-documented, you will understand why I like the simpler (which I made up and found to be perfectly acceptable)
腎石. I mean if we have 胆石, it seems to be both logical and "politically correct" to give equal simplicity to "kidney stone".

Editorial Comment You have lost me. Are you suggesting 腎臓結石 (in all the major dictionaries and with 75k WWW hits) be deleted? There is an entry for 腎石.

Commentno other dictionary has a distinct entry for this as a suffix. perhaps this should be deleted and a note added to ところ/とこ "also pronounced どころ as a suffix"?

(although they do have entries for どころ (prt) (See どころか) particle used to indicate that what precedes it is an extreme example and strongly negates it [G][GI][S][A] )

if kept, i suppose 処 should be added here too
