Headword 1愛しき
Reading 1いとしき
Part-of-speechadj-i
English 1dear
Referencesee below
CommentThis is another example which crops up in the same text as 若き日 [in a translation of a Wordsworth poem]. In this case the English is clearly 'dear' [いとしき谷間 (dear valley)]. However, I am not sure that my selection of the part of speech is correct. Again, many thanks because now I think that I am beginning to grasp the point.

CommentIt is supposed (in above link) that AKY implies intent to not read the mood while related acronyms (KY) imply inability to do so. A couple of sites have あくまでも空気読まない but that was probably accidentally invented after the fact.

Comment> changed (3) to specify that only あちら is polite.

I agree that only あちら is polite, but I don't think あちら is the only one that can mean "that person" so
(3) (あちら only) (pol) that person
is misleading. If the (pol) is a real tag it can only apply to the entire sense so it should probably just be dropped.

CommentIf I have it right, then (2) is used after a time-like noun, -te form verb or pronoun. (e.g. 10時以後, あれ以後,
別れて以後) (1) is used on its own at the start of sentences.

Editorial Comment To maintain EDICT generation capability, I restrict Japanese characters to fields, which go at the strat of a sense. I've put "esp. after あれ, それ" at the start of sense 2. Is that OK?

Current Entry以後 [いご] /(n-adv,n-t) after this/from now on/hereafter/thereafter/(P)/ (1155100)
Headword 1以後
Reading 1いご
Part-of-speechn-adv,n-t
English 1after this
English 2from now on
English 3hereafter
English 4thereafter
CommentIncidentally これ以後 provides an interesting classification dilemma. From the grammatical usage point of view I think it fits (2), but from the gloss point of view it looks like (1).

If you look at it as ...

(1) 以後 = from now
(2) ○以後 = from the time given or implied by ○.

then if ○ = 'now' then you get a (2) that looks like a (1).

There are 238,000 Google hits for "これ以後", so the easiest cop-out would be to have a separate entry for it.
