Headword 1
Reading 1
Part-of-speechadj-pn
English 1that there (location)
Referencesee below
CommentThe context of the above was a reported oral communication:
I am not sure if I have selected the correct part of speech, but I think that the meaning matches what was intended by the speaker. The above does throw up quite a few hits on Google [ignorning あのう which also shows up on the same search].
PS. I am obliged to rene for the observations on 愛しき [2008-06-17]. That was most helpful. I am also pleased that you decided to keep the entry because even though there may not be a "need" for such entries in the context of those who understand the language reasonably well, for those who don't it is great to access your site and see the precise entry that one is searching for. For example, I guessed at the meaning of そしたら [which was not in my dictionaries], then I looked it up on your site and there it was; I was pleased to see that confirmation of my speculation [a sort of 'if/when' type of meaning]. I quite understand that with a normal printed dictionary that the publishers have to make some hard decisions about what to include and what to leave out, simply in order not to end up with the 20 volumns of the OED, but I understood that the great merit of sites like yours is that there is no real limit to capacity and that all trivia can be included providing that it does not
make searching difficult [i.e., like Google with a few million hits]. Sorry to ramble on a bit.

Editorial Comment Isn't the あの here really just "Um...."? The first dozen Google hits all seemed to be that. I'm going to drop this until there is more evidence that it's a freestanding expression.
