Headword 2ヶ月
Headword 3ヵ月
Headword 4カ月
Headword 5ケ月
Reading 1かげつ
Part-of-speechctr
English 1(number of) months
CommentI really think we need to re-examine the written form of かげつ,箇月 being I think an illogical choice. Why? Because with such common expressions the trend is - obviously - to simplify, such that 箇月 is a bit "too much". Here is what I am finding elsewhere - either the ヵ月 or ヵ月 (better) would be preferential, but then I am no the "reader/writer" that some others might be.

Editorial Comment On WWW hits, the order is: カ月 ケ月 ヶ月 ヵ月 箇月. I have made it thus, demoted 箇月 and ranked the others for P.

Comment> I have taken the "と" off the existing 事によると entry.
> I see that 事による is much more common.

I take it you're not adding 'due to' as a gloss?

○○verbことによると△△ does mean 'due to', but I don't think needs a separate entry as the こと is just a standard way of making a noun phrase of ○○verb.

Editorial Comment I did add "due to". I've made it a sense now, with "(with modifying verb)".

CommentI suppose it's derived from the meaning to flicker, to flash, but related to a thought, an idea, etc. coming suddenly to your mind.

The examples themselves only make reference to this meaning, and I came accross it in Japanese precisely with that meaning, so it would seem it's frequently used.
