ReferenceSee below.
CommentI hope that my part of speech is correct. You have 話し合い on your database, The above appeared in text alongside 話し合い. The context was about discussion and exhanging ideas at a meeting. I searched around to find the meaning of しあい as a suffix, but apart from 試合 nothing seemed to come up. Then I thought that it may be the same meaning as し合い as a suffix to 話. As する and す seem to both turn into し in such situations, I decided to check it out on your site and got the 'make a submission'. If the anticiapted meaning is correct, then that makes complete sense. And, as you stated in one of your recent editorial comments, it would help a beginner to know. If the anticipated meaning is not correct, then I am sorry to have made the submission [back to continuing the search in the old hard copy].

The usual usage is 〜も一案だと〜 not 〜は一案だと〜 (by about 15:1). Note the use of も in the quoted Eijiro sentence and the goo (大辞林) example sentence.

I would not translate the Eijiro sentence as it was (assuming the Japanese came first, which may well not be the case).
