Headword 1
Reading 1
Part-of-speechn
English 1transcribed broadcast
Comment"transcribed broadcast" leads to too much confusion, imparting a specificity to the meaning of 録音放送, which is just not there. How about: "pre-recorded broadcast"?

Headword 1録画
Reading 1
Part-of-speechn,vs
English 1video recording (tape, DVD, etc.)
CommentIn the interest of balance and parallelism to 録音 【ろくおん】 (n,vs) (See 録画) (audio) recording, I might suggest: "... (See 録音) (video) recording" and drop the specifics of "(tape, DVD, etc.)". Btw, I did some recording when I was last in Nara Pref. and was quite surprised to see DAT still being used.

Headword 1
Reading 1こうき
Part-of-speechn
English 1Red Flag
ReferenceALC 紅旗
Wikipedia JP
CommentSimilar to 赤旗, can this entry be made more comprehensible? JP Wikipedia redirects 紅旗 to 赤旗, mentioning that 紅旗 is used in Chinese as a word for a red (communist) flag. ALC's 1 entry on this is "Red Flag Linux" (紅旗リナックス), which supports Wikipedia's explanation.

Of course, there is bound to be a reason why this entry exists with capital letters. Any idea?

CommentThe english definition is very poor isnt it closer to "yeilding" than "birth"

Check this story in asahi it being used refering to a product.
http://www.asahi.com/world/china/cha/060315.html

Also note that the current example for (1) is for accutual an example for (2). A better example is the one thats attached on the お産 entry... or just copy the line from the asahi articale i attached and enter that instead

Editorial Comment No, birth/childbirth/delivery/etc. is right. We can talk of the "birth" of a product in English.

All uses there are 産する (a separate entry) except for 台湾産 where it is obviously sense (2).

First entry is for 産する, there are too many entries to check through but there weren't any 産 entries on the first page of output.

I'm not saying the previous amendment was incorrect, but neither of the references quoted supports the change.
