Commenti would say that this is probably just as (P) as 愛する, since 愛さない is more common than 愛しない, and 愛している could be interpreted as a conjugation of 愛す just as easily as 愛する.

CommentIf you're interested in Google hit weirdness, searching for this on Japanese pages only and then "all pages" may be interesting. It gets about 25,000 hits as a Japanese word and 2,000,000 hits on "all pages" (in quotes). I'd understand if a lot of Chinese pages came up, but I didn't see a single Chinese page in the Google results.

Current Entry見据える [みすえる] /focus on (stare at)/FM/
Headword 1見据える
Reading 1みすえる
Part-of-speech?
English 1focus on (stare at)
English 2FM
ReferenceSee below.
CommentIn trying to understand the workings of the site better, I am raising the above as point of interest rather than as a definitive modification. 見据える appears in EDICT and also the FM section. Both entries have the clear context of 'to stare at' 'to gaze at' 'to focus on' and, as such, the entry could be in almost every section of the site. It therefore seemed to me that the above entry had no particular value once 見据える had been included in EDICT. If that is correct, then I think that I am beginning to understand. If not, then I shall have to go back to the drawing board for another run.

Editorial Comment 見据える occures in both EDICT and in the Finance/Marketing dictionary. No problem with that; many items occur in multiple dictionaries. You are obviously using the "Combined Jpn-Eng" file, which is everything tipped together. So of course you see 見据える twice; that's effectively what you asked for. If you want to see a mix of entries, but with no duplicates, use the "Special Text-glossing" file rather that the "Combined Jpn-Eng" file.
