I think if you examine the verbs that tend to use さない instead of しない, you'll find that Japanese dictionaries tend to give them their own 〜す entry, listed as both a (v5s) in modern Japanese, and a (vs-s) in classical Japanese. The 〜さない comes from a *regular* (v5s) conjugation of 〜す, not an *irregular* conjugation of (vs-s) 〜する. They use only the standard する conjugations. |

The original text was this: 一味も二味も違う世界が存在していたのです。 I am translating this, based upon context, as something like the author was telling me that 'A world which was completely different existed.' However, 一味も二味も in a literal sense would give me no such meaning. Hence, my turning to your site for assistance and my subsequent attempt to make a submission from the speculative position of the novice. |
