Comment | I think the submitter above was another person confused by the "User-submitted entry, awaiting verification" message.
Perhaps "awaiting incorporation into permanent database", etc. would be a better message, since the "verification" process is usually done within a mere day of submission, but it then sits there for a month or so before being added to edict proper. |

When you search for something in Google you get a hit estimate shown: Results 1 - 10 of about 1,350 for "噂をすれば影がさす" However it _always_ over-estimates. Comment | I was searching the site for a meaning of the above and I was prompted to make a submission. Taking another route, I deleted the か and looked up 何物 and I discovered that was present in the data with a meaning of 'something' or 'nothing (with neg.)' so then I wondered whether the か was simply 'or'. The context of my text was this: この人、何か物を落として拾う. This text I am now taking to mean: This person picks up and drops something or other. There are lots of Google hits and I am wondering whether such an expression should be included. Should it have been included already, I would have been pleased to discover it and get on with my reading with a little more certainty. |
