| Comment | I was searching the site for a meaning of the above and I was prompted to make a submission. Taking another route, I deleted the か and looked up 何物 and I discovered that was present in the data with a meaning of 'something' or 'nothing (with neg.)' so then I wondered whether the か was simply 'or'. The context of my text was this: この人、何か物を落として拾う. This text I am now taking to mean: This person picks up and drops something or other. There are lots of Google hits and I am wondering whether such an expression should be included. Should it have been included already, I would have been pleased to discover it and get on with my reading with a little more certainty. |
