Comment | to Francis:
I don't know if anybody else uses this but I use edict through a program called Wakan (http://wakan.manga.cz/). Besides being faster than wwwjdic and not needing web access, this program has a feature to search for all words that begin in a certain way (A+ icon). So, you could just type gakuen and gakuensai would show up. Furthermore, if you can manage to find just one kanji in the word that you are looking for, you can copy it to the clipboard and then search for all words that use this kanji. And there's much more... |

Comment | I was doubting whether I should amend the entry for お母さん instead of suggesting a new entry, but figured that the distinct readings and usage warrant a separate entry. The same goes for 御父様 (おもうさま), which I will suggest next. |
