I know by your general comments, which are made in response to many of the submissions which you receive, that you are continually trying to strike a balance with this difficult grey area. Indeed, I expect that it is your tolerance which encourages many the submissions which potentially fall within this difficult band. Some years ago, I was involved with analysing a mass of information. There were many rogue elements which did not fit into the defined classifications. Although they took up much of our time in debate, in reality they represented less than 5f the whole. This became a real problem, however, once I decided to have a 'rogue' classification, everything which could not be allocated simply was dumped into the 'rogue' classification. The time saved was unbelievable; the integrity of the main analysis was preserved; and when time permitted we returned to finding ways of re-classifying, or cross-referencing, or just simply explaining the 'rogue' elements. Sometimes, upon closer analysis, which was focused solely upon the 'rogue' elements, we found that there was more consistency than was originally thought and, in which case, a further main classification was created. I accept, of course, that the above is unlikely to be original thinking, but sometimes it just comes down to making that decision to have a 'rogue' classification within the framework of a sound and defensible policy in respect of the main target. In general, I have found that simply having the 'rogue' classification within a scholarly work was the anathema itself. Personally, I am grateful for your tolerance in accommodating many of the grey areas, and some of my submissions within it, because I frequently find the answer to my searches on your site; which things I could not find elsewhere. |

The kanji details, as provided on your site, do not support the reading and I am wondering if the kanji '唆' is correct. My reading text was this: '好奇心をそそってやみません。' , which I am taking to mean '(the object of interest) did not stop arousing the curiosity (of those who saw it)'. |
