Current Entry栄え有る [はえある] /(adj-f) splendid/glorious/ (1901420)
Headword 1栄え有る

English 2glorious
Referencesee below.
CommentNelson shows a reading as 'hae(aru)' for '栄ある' , but I could not find that elsewhere so I was just checking on your site. I got the above.

When I checked '栄え有る'with Google, the above got about 300 hits. When I tried '栄えある' it got about 280,000 hits.

I am wondering if the headword, itself, should reflect that mode of reading.

P.S.
Nelson often seems to be at odds when it comes to the hiragana which follows the kanji, thus confirming your own comments about Nelson.

Current Entry一味違う [ひとあじ] /(?) ???/RH/
Headword 1一味違う
Reading 1ひとあじちがう
Part-of-speechexp
English 1to be somewhat different (from before, from others, etc.)
ReferenceSee below.
CommentI was searching for '味違う' because I could not find it anywhere else. The string did start off with '一', but I assumed that was just one of any number of amounts which could precede a kanji string.

When I entered '味違う' on your site, I got the above. Clearly this shows the value of the hanging suffix. Naturally, when I saw that '一' was 'ひと', I was home and dry, so to speak. Then I checked my other sources again starting with 'ひと' and discovered the expression in all of them.

There must be some rhyme and reason to all this, but until one has the clues up one's own sleeve, any source which can allow the input from the non-thinking novice's brain to be read and responded to deserves a five star rating, at least. This would be so, even if the response were only, 'try doing a new search with a prefix or with a suffix'.

The other day, I was searching for '海岸線沿い' . I got the first two kanji in the dictionary, but I could not get the last two. I check in the same mode on your site and the result was the same. Then, I tried the first three and got the answer. Of course, I should have known that by now. However, in the process of trying to understand the whole text, that obvious point did not spring into my mind. Perhaps that is what study is all about, but it seems in Japanese that it is too often the case that one never quite knows whether one has found the right answer; especially sitting at home and trying to read some text.

With regard to the above submission, the following entry seems to negate the need for my amendment and perhaps the above RH should be deleted.
一味違う(P); ひと味違う 【ひとあじちがう】 (exp,v5u) (col) to be somewhat different (from before, from others, etc.); (P)

There is also another entry, as below, which perhaps should either be fleshed out or deleted.
