| Comment | Well needle and pin both sound straight, while "(fish)hook", obviously, always implies a curve at the end. 針 certainly is used to mean fish-hook (and I presume other hooks as well, and fish-hook is not naturally implied by the first two glosses to my mind.

I agree it's good to keep 'hook' in the other entry, but I think it's better (as I suggested) to use the blanket term 'hook', and put it in together in the same sense with 'needle' and 'pin' rather than given its own sense as 'fishhook'.
