If you have actual evidence that this is what the word means, please offer it up for inspection. The private document I have provides a precise definition in Japanese, which does not correspond to the definition *added* to this word. The *added* definition seems to be an explanation based on nothing more than reading the two components of the word and guessing what they might mean. If that is not the case, perhaps you can provide an example? The division made in the document I have is between two types of sexual harassment, one is the 対価型 word which seems to have a form in English of "quid pro quo" sexual harassment, and the other is "環境型" which covers any other forms of harassment which don't involve an exchange of favours. There is nothing whatsoever about "due to a hostile environment" in the documents I have, and I strongly suspect this is a piece of guesswork by someone who has much less idea than I do what the word means. As for the suggestion that the original word I suggested is hard to understand or "chokuyaku", possibly it is, but I would suggest that before you write an entry to "explain" it, it is vital to actually know what the word means, which you clearly don't. |

As I mentioned, I found "environmental sexual harassment" unclear.
Using the old -とは trick, I Googled for "環境型セクハラとは" and got several
excellent descriptions. A good one is at:

その他にも結婚はするのか、子供はどうだ等という会話も環境型セクハラに当たります。その他にも特定の女性社員をちゃん付けで呼ぶ、飲み会で身体に触れる等といったことも全て環境型セクハラになります。 I think I'll amend the gloss to "sexual harassment from colleagues in the work environment (lit: environmental sexual harassment)", which seems a reasonable summary of the definitions. The page above also describes "対応型セクハラ". I'd hate to see an entry for that glossed as "interaction sexual harassment" or "correspondence sexual harassment". Any bids for a good gloss?
