These are the submissions received via the WWW forms for this day. I (Jim Breen) will annotate the submission if I think it needs to be amended or rejected or if I have a question about it. Otherwise it can be assumed that it has been accepted. You can see how it will look in EDICT by looking at the "diffs" file for this day or the next in the diffs directory.

Current Entry農学者 [?] /agricultural scientist/agriculturist/agronomist/WI2/
Headword 1農学者
Reading 1
Part-of-speech?
English 1agricultural scientist
English 2agriculturist
English 3agronomist
English 4WI2
ReferenceSee below.
CommentIn trying to improve upon my understanding, I refer to a recent submission (06/12/08) on the above headword and your comment that: "A better way to do that is to bring up the 農学者 entry in the combined file and turn it into a new entry for EDICT. "

Were you expecting the person who made the submission to have another go at the above, in accordance with your suggestion, or did you create the entry shown below as a result of that submission:-
農学者 【のうがくしゃ】 agronomist (n); LS...?

Further that, as a result of your action, in due course, your sweeping mechanism will automatically delete the above headword?

In short, if the person who made the submission does not act upon your suggestion, the old WI2 entry will remain as it is until someone else spots it and makes a fresh submission.

Editorial Comment I created an entry, but not the one you quoted - that's in the Life Sciences file (those two-letter codes are there when you are using the combined file to tell you which file they are from.) Once the new 農学者 entry gets formally included, the partial 農学者/? entry will be dropped from the work-in-progress file.

Speaking of JLPT, it's Sunday the 7th, so I'm of take the 一級 test now.
